Stop wasting your time and energy in trying to develop the ultimate soccer passing drill exercise. Doing drills in soccer does not have to be something you tear your hair over. These quick tips will allow you to get started on implementing new, fun and exciting techniques for both you and your squad.

So here is the first tip...

The Passing Name Game: Great drill to practice when wanting your players to develop the ability to think ahead before they receive the ball.

How it works

* Form a circle with your players.
* One player starts with the ball and passes it onto a new player.
* The player that is about to receive the ball must call out the new player's name that they will be directing the pass to.
* Players should use two touches. One touch to stop the ball and the next to pass it on.
* Players should also try and avoid passing the ball to the same player they have received it from.

The next tip...

Defensive Overlapping Passing: This drill allows a defender to pass of the ball to a midfielder. By doing so the defender can overlap the midfielder and then receive the ball and become an attacking defender.

How it works

* Play starts with defender on either left or right back position.
* Defender then passes ball off to midfielder.
* Defender then makes an overlapping run around the outside of the midfielder.
* Midfielder then passes ball off to forward.
* Forward will then pass the ball back into the center midfielder which will then play the ball towards the corner flag.
* As the ball is in motion the defender will receive the pass, control it, then cross the ball into the box for one of the two forwards to have a shot at goal.

These tips could not be any easier. If you get started with these simple passing soccer drills today, you will start seeing improvements in your squad's passing techniques immediately.
